This one’s great for breakfast or a snack on the go, and it’s so easy to put new flavours in there too. Aara’s favourite are these blueberry and banana ones. They are super easy and can be done in the microwave, which is great when you want to whip up a quick snack for the little ones.

Even better, our section plate is perfect for baking these bars in👌

Suitable for 6+ months

Makes around 7 bars
Ingredients:
> 50g porridge oats
> 45mls milk
> 1/4 mashed up banana
> A good handful of fresh or frozen blueberries, blitzed up
> A dash of vanilla extract (optional)

Method:
1. Mash the banana and blitz the blueberries
2. Mix together the oats, milk, mash up banana and blueberries and optional vanilla. If you can leave the mixture a few minutes, so the oats soak up the flavours.
3. Once mixed pour the mixture into a small microwave safe dish, I use the bottom half of our section plate, it’s a perfect size for the mixture
4. Microwave on high for 40 seconds, until cooked. It’s cooked when the mixture is firm to touch and flex’s away from the edge. If the mix hasn’t set after 40 seconds continue to do further 40 second increments.
5. Once cooked remove from the microwave and leave to cool in the dish. Be careful when removing these bars from the microwave as they will be hot.
6. When cool remove from dish and slice into fingers. Make sure they are cool before giving them to your baby.

Such an easy recipe and different fruits can be used to create different flavours.

Store in air tight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. Or freeze up to 3 months, defrost at room temperature or in the microwave.
